The Fashionfish : TUD II - That Unforgettable Dress

"Open here I flung the shutter" - by Dita

Rem from Empyreal Dreams told D a little after New Years that the second of the dresses in the series (Three unique pieces in total) would be ready soon.

Ourfish really do feel most privileged to work in collaboration.*
*In the sense that an image produced wearing his dress alongside some other of my own personal choices for styling, is a collaboration between model and designer.

Of these series of photos, D says the following :
I've kept the shots of the dress true to exactly as it would appear in world without any photoshop jiggery pokery - Just windlight setting adjustments and croppage in order to try and show how detailed the dress already is.

The Raven Dress I

The Raven (Dress) is the accompaniment of the Exhibition at Empyreal dreams on a poem by Edgar Allan Poe of same title. For New Years, I had reviewed the first of these dresses which was white and romantically seemed to engage a feeling of the hope of love within the poem.
The Raven Dress IV
This black version, with its victorianesque feel perhaps most embodies its mourning aspect. Set amongst dark fading satin panels - shifting imagery, numbers and quotes flicker in and out of the dress against the ticking clocks which seem to mark out the passage of time. The dress is complete of its own accord with shoes, belts (with working clocks), skirts (and separate versions with/without lag for more user friendliness) and millinery.
The Raven Dress II

"And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain Thrilled me…" from The Raven, by Edgar Allan Poe

The Fashionfish : That unforgettable dress...

"And so a toast  - ring out the old , ring in the new..."

A Rapturous 2012
That Unforgettable Dress (TUD)
Some looks are timeless...
Another year is at its end and ofcourse there is that timeless question that persists in the minds of the trend concious... " What to wear?"

TUD : In repose...
Details of this dress are just stunning and unfortunately hard to capture!

To make the grandest entrance at any SL party this year end... wear art!
There are so many interesting things about this dress that it is nigh impossible to write of it. For one, it is an animated piece of couture that embodies the very idea of time and its fleeting. The dress moves and shifts and reveals its secrets over the course of time such that your outfit itself is never really quite the same in different light. It comes in flexible versions of course - one with the scripted bells and whistles, and the other in a plainer but nonetheless show stopping version. Don't just take Ourfish word for it.

TUD : Within its companion art structure...
The exhibit itself was used as the background for these shots of 'The Raven Dress'

TUD : In the changing light...
This view of the dress provides perhaps a glimpse of the shifting changing nature and details of the train which quotes verse from the poem " The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe

Hair : Dark Mouse " Palomma" - Free at free dove.
Complete Outfit : Empyreal Dreams "The Raven Dress" (Lenore Winter Edition)
No photo manipulation was involved in any of these shots which are published as is. The environment is entirely shot in SL as also created by Empyreal Dreams

The Artfish: Drowned World Lenore

Drowned World Lenore

Ah, broken is the golden bowl! the spirit flown forever!
Let the bell toll! -a saintly soul floats on the Stygian river -
And, Guy De Vere, hast thou no tear? -weep now or never more!
See! on yon drear and rigid bier low lies thy love, Lenore!
Come! let the burial rite be read -the funeral song be sung! -
An anthem for the queenliest dead that ever died so young -
A dirge for her, the doubly dead in that she died so young ~ Edgar Allan Poe

The visit to Empyreal Dreams (ref blog 19/12) must have been more inspiring than Ourfish thought!

As we were fiddling around  with wind-light settings, poses and set design, the image started coming together to form this picture….
Original Capture
